Our Custom bike has a Sturmey Archer wide range 5 speed gear system.  It also has an adjustable height handlebar .  Comfy wide saddle and puncture resistant tyres make this a very good low step thru bike.    It is also built in a very nice dark blue and a black fork that was not available on the UK versions of the Ciao.
